Citroen hybrid vehicles are becoming more and more electric. The double-angle brand has altered its plug-in hybrid model lineup for the C5 Aircross and C5 X, extending the electric range of the two models by more than 5%. The battery-electric range of the Citroen C5 Aircross increases from 61 km to 64 km and from 60 km to 63 km for the new flagship Citroen C5 X. As a result, the pure electric operation has more freedom, and the prospects for household savings and environmental advantages have improved.

The Citroen C5 Aircross now has a new generation of batteries with updated cell chemistry that increases output from 13.2 kWh to 14.2 kWh (12.9 kWh net) while keeping the number of cells the same at 96 and therefore emitting less CO 2. The Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid 225 Stop&Start e-EAT8 starts at 43,400 euros plus VAT.

The battery in the Citroen C5 X remains unchanged at 12.4 kWh (11.3 kWh net) and 84 cells. The enhancements are the result of refining the software control of the minimum battery charge threshold, which enables improved battery management for increased range in ZEV mode and lower CO2 emissions.

Customers are enthusiastic about the Citroen C5 X PHEV model. More than 70% of C5 X consumers choose the hybrid variant. The Citroen C5 X Hybrid 225 Stop&Start e-EAT8 gearbox is available for 45,100 euros, including VAT.
