In the first six months of 2022, the Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid had the highest sales volume of any plug-in hybrid model sold across Europe. More than 23,000 Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrids were delivered to customers in 2022, which is more than 28% more than the next best-selling PHEV. This success followed in 2021 when the Ford Kuga was the best-selling plug-in hybrid in Europe.
The Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid SUV continues its dominance in Europe, where it has been the best-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) since its introduction last year. Additionally, Ford has introduced the Black package for the Kuga ST-Line X. This package adds several cosmetic upgrades and a new comfort seat option.
Ford Kuga Product Director Glen Goold said, "We recognize that many of our customers wishing to drop a traditional petrol or diesel car may not be ready to move straight to an all-electric vehicle," adding that the Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid is the company's best-selling PHEV from Europe.
The Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid SUV has an adaptive powertrain that gives buyers options by providing an electric-only range of 57-67km WLTP and an electric-only city range of 71-88km WLTP. The WLTP estimates that energy consumption of 14.4-14.9 kWh/100 km is lower than that of major rivals.
Customers enjoy a petrol car's versatility, while the electric motor's added performance is a boon. The Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid's EV Auto mode allows drivers to relax, knowing their vehicle is continuously operating at peak efficiency and getting the highest potential fuel economy.
The Ford Kuga ST-Line X Black package, which has exclusive external design components for a more dynamic and distinctive look, is now available.
Kuga's athletic design is joined by a black-painted roof, black mirror caps, and black lower front and rear grilles as part of the optional Black package, which complements the whole spectrum of exterior body colors for maximum visual impact. The 20-inch alloy wheels are also black, as are the ST-Line and Kuga lettering on the trunk lid.
Customers of the Ford Kuga can now select the Comfort seats, which have been certified by Aktion Gesunder Rücken eV, the most significant organization responsible for spine health (AGR). The four-way lumbar and headrest adjustment and the seat's height, length, and tilt allow occupants of varying statures to find a comfortable posture.
An impartial testing panel composed of medical professionals from various professions, the AGR is awarded to goods that have been proven to help consumers make informed decisions about their purchases. One study indicated that 63% of drivers had severe back pain to cause them difficulty driving.
