In 1922, Aloha Wanderwell became the first woman to drive around the world, completing her journey in a Ford Model T. Now, 100 years later, Ford is teaming up with influencer and world traveler Lexie Alford, also known as Lexie Limitless, to recreate this historic journey in the new 100% electric Ford Explorer.
Alford, who holds the Guinness World Record as the youngest woman to visit every country in the world, has partnered with Ford to embark on an ambitious trip around the world in the latest Ford Explorer. The all-electric SUV combines German engineering with American style and is packed with smart technology and solutions that help drivers and passengers stay connected and comfortable on their adventures.
"We are excited to see what our new Ford Explorer electric SUV and Lexie Alford can accomplish together on this expedition - inspired by Aloha Wanderwell's pioneering drive," says Martin Sander, general manager of Ford Model e, Europe. "Just as Ford partnered with Wanderwell in the 1920s, we are now partnering with Lexie Alford on a new journey in the 21st century to celebrate the modern explorer and showcase what is possible in an electric vehicle."
