The current generation of Opel Astra made its international debut in September with the five-door variant, and the Opel Astra Sports Tourer is already following. The German automaker is displaying an entirely new station wagon version of its small class hit. From the outset, the Opel Astra Sports Tourer will be offered as a plug-in hybrid, making it the brand's first electrified station wagon. The new Opel Astra Sports Tourer maintains the brand's legacy of successful small station wagons that began over 60 years ago with the Kadett Caravan, the first compact class station wagon from a German company.
"The new Opel Astra Sports Tourer is an all-rounder for a new era, electric, computerized, and excitingly styled. We blend our lengthy history of tiny station wagons with cutting-edge advancements like plug-in hybrid technology. With the wonderful-looking Sports Tourer, we are certain that we will attract new consumers for Opel," says Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Opel's CEO.
