The Opel Grandland X may be the ideal choice for old fans of the German brand, but who can go beyond the quality of the interior, especially compared to the Peugeot 3008. However, the engine fits perfectly with the size of the car. Grandland X's top diesel offers dynamic performance, and the suspension provides a comfortable ride. However, the interior materials could have benefited from a more careful finish.
The space available inside is imposing, especially in the back seats, where the comfort is superior to the first row. The trunk is also well-sized and more than enough for a modern family.
We can even say that the Opel Grandland X is a Peugeot with a good interior because here, you can not find the instrumentation placed above the steering wheel. However, the quality turns out to be poorer than in the French model, especially in the gearbox area. However, the eight-speed automatic transmission fits perfectly with the diesel engine. The acceleration response is prompt, and gear changes are noticeable. Traction is only on the front axle, but it benefits from the IntelliGrip system, which offers several driving modes.
Even though the power allows it to reach high speeds fairly quickly, the Opel Grandland X is adjusted more for comfort. Also, the direction will not be appreciated by those who want sportsmanship. On the other hand, the sound is good, and the media unit offers full connectivity, thanks to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The PSA Group acquired Opel in March 2017. The change proved to be successful because, under the PSA hat, Opel started to make a profit. The new strategy focuses on SUVs developed on the platform of the French, namely Crossland X and Grandland X. The latter is the brother of the Peugeot 3008, and this can be seen quickly. Both use the same technical platform but offer different approaches inside.
