The 2023 Toyota Crown is a new model that replaces the Avalon as Toyota's flagship sedan in the US market. It is a hybrid sedan with a lifted body style that combines the executive styling of a premium sedan, the flowing shape of a sports car, and the elevated cabin of an SUV. The Crown offers two hybrid powertrain options, standard all-wheel drive, many modern techs, and an unorthodox design to appeal to adventurous drivers who want something different from the typical sedan.
The base powertrain is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors that produce a combined output of 236 horsepower. The Platinum trim comes with a more powerful Hybrid Max powertrain consisting of a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine and two electric motors that deliver 340 horsepower. Both powertrains are mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT), featuring three driving modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport.
The Toyota Crown has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 42 mpg city and 41 mpg highway for the base powertrain and 29 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for the Hybrid Max powertrain. The Toyota Crown also has an impressive range of up to 600 miles on a single gas tank for the base powertrain and up to 450 miles for the Hybrid Max powertrain.
The 2023 Toyota Crow has three trim levels: XLE, Limited, and Platinum. The Toyota Crow XLE starts at $39,950 and comes with standard features such as LED headlights and taillights, heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, a power moonroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with an all-new Toyota multimedia system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a nine-speaker sound system, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, synthetic leather upholstery, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
The Toyota Crow Limited starts at $45,550 and adds features such as LED fog lights and daytime running lights, a hands-free power trunk lid, a head-up display, a 14-speaker JBL sound system, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat with memory function, genuine leather upholstery, wood-grain trim, and ambient lighting.
The Toyota Crow Platinum starts at $52,350 and comes with the exclusive Hybrid Max powertrain and features such as adaptive LED headlights with sequential turn signals.
