The Volkswagen Polo received a facelift in April, and now it's the turn of the Volkswagen Polo GTI model to receive the restyling.
So, the newly introduced Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift has a new front grille, IQ.Light LED matrix headlights, dynamic turn signals and all the technologies and elements that have appeared on the non-GTI variants. In addition to these, it comes with ornaments specific to GTI models, i.e. red body accessories, GTI logos, two-pipe exhaust and a set of rims dedicated to this GTI version.
Once onboard, occupants will notice the red accessories mounted on the dashboard and the steering wheel, centre console, and door faces. There is no lack of upholstery with which VW has equipped the GTI models since the first generation of the GTI Golf appeared. Of course, the textile material has been improved over time, but the specific pattern has been kept as a tribute.
Technically, the restyling did not change the VW Polo GTI. We still have a 2.0 TSI engine under the hood with 207 horsepower and 320 Nm. The only transmission offered is a seven-speed DSG with two clutches; this means a 0-100 km / h sprint in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 240 km / h.
Compared to a standard Polo, the GTI variant has a ground clearance reduced by 15 millimetres and has a suspension with a firmer adjustment, along with a steering system configured for the dynamic ambitions of this variant.
When it comes to assistance systems, VW has given the Golf GTI everything that it has if the buyer is willing to pay. From Front Assist with city emergency braking and pedestrian detection to ACC, multi-collision brake, predictive passenger protection system, parking assistant and blind spot sensor, everything is available.
In terms of price, the 2022 Volkswagen Polo GTI is around 23,000 euros.
